The year is 1998. Harold Mainwaring is celebrating his sixtieth birthday, surrounded by his nearest and (possibly) dearest. Married to a lovely young wife and successful in both his career and his hobby of growing roses, he seems on top of the world. All, however, is not as rosy as it seems. The celebration soon turns tragic.
